A quick study. Untitled
A little about the Paintings.

To be truthful these are the only paintings I've ever done so far. My first love will always be pen & ink without it I wouldn't be able to get the realism I've always wanted. But I knew there was a new level of realism I could achieve if I just took the time and patience learned how to paint. After taking 2 months off of drawing I and looking over my portfolio I realized that there was a way to get a true photo realistic piece on canvas. Six months ago I was in Lowe's getting mounts for a frame, walking past the paint department I realized what's the difference in the acrylic paint you buy in the art store and the paint here. Price for one. So I picked up 12,sets of 5 different colors in 1/2 pint sample cans that were about $100.00. For the same amount of paint it would have cost me about 4 times as much at any art store. And you get over 7 times the paint from a 1/2 pint can. Second there is no waste, just try to put acrylic paint back in the tube when your done. Drying time, With me and these pieces I can sit back or work on another part of the piece for 10 minutes and then it will be dry enough to continue. Mixing, Very little or no mixing is involved as the colors of your choice are mixed for you. After a few weeks discouragement and practice I found a technique that works and gives me the desired effect I was looking for, what I call "true photo realism". I've always had a fear of painting and color, but this way it gives me the opportunity to to reach my full potential as an artist.
